"There is a certain stereotype to bands who follow in the footsteps of Throbbing Gristle, but Grobbing Thristle's debut inverts almost all of them, building instead on the more neglected aspects of TG's legacy: the soft, painterly touches of sound, the subtle metabolic effects, the music's ambiguous perspective on gender. With the lonely minimal guitar on "Fifth" hitting like ripples in a pond, they seem more interested in writing the next "Almost A Kiss" than the next "Discipline".

With the lonely minimal guitar on "Fifth" hitting like ripples in a pond, they seem more interested in writing the next "Almost A Kiss" than the next "Discipline". The detached repetition of small voices throughout the album emphasizes their recorded nature. Listening to this album, it isn't hard to understand what "grobbing" might be, an implacable rhythm that recalls the biological (masses of insects, or a bloodstream?) and mechanical noise in equal measures, and it is a very effective technique indeed. Grobbing Thristle's music stands up quite well beside Throbbing Gristle's recent releases, and occupies a unique place in modern industrial".
Mammoth Ulthana is a sound-concept project based on a combination of traditional acoustic instruments, such as an oriental gong set, bells, animal horns, pipes, ethnic drums or singing bowls, with various sounds generated by computer software. This blend creates a sort of unique and intense musical space build on a strong basis and filled with many...
The album was originally released on Nefryt on a CDR limited to 250 copies. Now it sees the light of the day again, with new cover, new master and additional tracks from "Recycled Magick Emissions" MCDR (released on Nefryt sister label-Malachit.) Despite the years, the material gathered here is still sparkling with untamed energy of acoustic sounds. The...
It is hard to imagine the history of Polish industrial scene without noticing the activities of GENETIC TRANSMISSION - a project that might be considered legendary or having a cult status among quite a few, and the one that certainly has left a lot of its influence on the activity of many other artists in our country, and also inspired others to the...

One of the most well-reviewed Zoharum releases is the debut album of Mammoth Ulthana from 2013. The duo continues to create music based on the juxtaposition of...

'Ninkyo Dantai' is the first full solo album by Rafał Kołacki. It was created mainly on the basis of field recordings. Quite specific noises made by various kinds of electrical appliances (transformers, fans, etc.) were used sound sources. This time, Kołacki approached the substantive content of the album slightly differently than in his previous productions. Instead of the short audio snippets of individual places like on 'Hijra. Noise from The Jungle', he proposes to the listener an in-depth contemplation for a few minutes in the landmarks of the Ethiopian capital. These include St. Mary...
