Trio_io - New Animals CD

Trio_io (PL) - electro-acustic trio performing a fusion of contemporary chamber music and free improvisation. On March 2019 a debut album "Waves" has been released in Bôłt Records.
Our music is a product of three minds, three different musical languages, three different origins. Our meeting gave rise to open forms which draw inspiration from the tradition of music by contemporary composers, experiments with prepared instruments and elements of free jazz and folk music. Our music can simply be classified as new music.

Zofia Ilnicka (1990). Flautist. She studied at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, graduating in 2016. Since 2014 she contributes contemporary music ensemble - TrioLayers. She is the laureate of many National and International Music competitions: 3rd prize in Dolina Kreatywna (Music competition organized by Polish Television), 1st prize in Mlawa Music festival, 2nd prize at International Music Competition - Citta di Barletta, 1st prize in International Music Competition - Citta di Barletta, Special Prize at Chamber Tournament - Bydgoszcz. She won a scholarship of President of Bydgoszcz in 2014, and in period of 2005-2007 seven scholarships of Carl Richard Montag Stiftung fur Jugend und Gesellschaft - Bonn. She performed in Spain, Italy, Denmark, France, Czech Republic.

Łukasz Marciniak (1984). Guitarist, composer, music enthusiast, co-created the Makemake duo, playing open compositions in the spirit of ambient, free jazz. Co-creator of Brzoska Kolektyw - musical experiment- Searching for a place for harmonization of words and sounds in the most optimal formula for them. Currently, he is also active in trio: El topo - playing combined music respecting tradition, but not limiting to any framework. Author of music for silent films and performances. In solo activities, he works on his own language of articulation.

Jakub Wosik (1991). Violinist, composer and improviser. He studied at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, graduating in 2016. In the center of his interests among jazz is contemporary and free improvised music. He is the laureate of many National and International Music competitions: (with Trio Layers) 3rd prize in Dolina Kreatywna (Music competition organized by Polish Television), 1st prize in Mlawa Music festival, 1st prize in International Music Competition - Citta di Barletta, Special Prize at Chamber Tournament - Bydgoszcz. He won a scholarship of President of Bydgoszcz in 2016. He performed in Spain, Italy, Denmark, England and Canada.
